WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL CLASS OF 1986 REUNION WEBSITE
In our final year at Waubonsie Valley we looked forward to our commencement with excitement and hesitation. We were excited because all of our hard work was going to payoff, and we were going to graduate with our classmates and move on to the next phase of our lives. This was soon met with hesitation, for though some of us knew what was in store for us with college, careers, or marriage, we were leaving the comfort of a place we all considered our second home. For four years we walked through the halls of our then quaint school meeting new people, sharing stories of important happenings in our lives with our friends, worrying about exams, and wondering if all our hard work would payoff at the next play, musical, band performance or sporting event. In the end we muddled through everything going on in our lives and became stronger individuals for it. However, for the most part we were short sighted. None of us dared to look past the next year of our lives let alone the next twenty. Now in a blink of an eye we are caught looking back. We find ourselves asking, has it really been that long? We’ve been caught up in our everyday lives and those of our families for so long that we have some how lost track of time. When we graduated we thought thirty was old, now we think forty won’t be all that bad. Some of us are helping our children with the same trials and tribulations of their school lives that we went through in ours, catching ourselves saying, “when I was your age”. Some manage or work at companies with more employees than there were students at Waubonsie when we left. Then there are some in the armed forces, which have traveled to far off places to insure that we are safe in our own backyards. Whatever the case, we all have contributed in one way or another and those who knew us twenty years ago are surely proud of us today. Yes indeed, what they say is true, it is a big world out there and the small determined class of 1986 has definitely left its mark. This website has been set up for our 20 year reunion however it is nineteen years overdue. When you visit please take the time to look it over and leave your information as well as any thoughts you may have about the last twenty years. Whether you will be making the reunion or not, be assured that there is someone out there, from the class of 1986, that would like to get in touch with you and reminisce about old times or catch up on new times. We were lucky when we were in school because our student body was small. We shouldn’t take that for granted. Today kids walk the halls of their schools happy to have a handful of people that they know. When you walked the halls of Waubonsie Valley you knew everyone and everyone knew you!
